betFIRST Becomes Betsson in Belgium: What Changes?
Belgian sportsbook and casino brand betFIRST has transitioned to Betsson, with the rebrand taking effect on 5 October 2026. The move follows Betsson Group’s acquisition of betFIRST in June 2023 and brings the Belgian operation under the group’s flagship brand.
What changes for customers?
The most visible change is the name and branding. The launch package also includes upgrades to the Betsson Casino and Betsson Sportsbook platforms, refreshed mobile apps, Betsson-branded live-casino content, exclusive games, and access to international partnerships and fan-engagement projects.
The Belgian operation continues under its existing Belgian licence. The group describes the transition as a continuation of the established local service, alongside the platform and brand updates. For more detail on the sportsbook, read our Betsson Sport review.
Why has betFIRST become Betsson?
The rebrand consolidates the group’s Belgian presence under its international identity. betFIRST was founded in 2011 and had already built a position in the Belgian market before the 2023 acquisition. The October 2026 change is therefore a brand transition within the existing business, rather than the arrival of an unrelated new operator.
Betsson and Betsson.sport have different roles
Betsson is the group’s online gaming and betting brand in Belgium. Betsson.sport is a separate sports-infotainment platform focused on content, news, scores and fan engagement. The two names may appear in the same Belgian sports context, but Betsson.sport is not the sportsbook or casino service.
